This is an exploratory learning opportunity designed for regional leaders to discuss the NYSED’s proposed changes to graduation measures as outlined by the Blue Ribbon Commission. This session will provide an in-depth understanding of these proposed transformations, facilitate discussions on their implications for the Genesee Valley BOCES region, and guide participants in strategizing actionable steps for successful regional adaptation.

This hybrid session includes two components:

  • Asynchronous Engagement: Participants will review curated resources, including NYSED guidance documents and a recording of the November 2024 Board of Regents meeting, at their own pace. That content is housed in this course.
  • Synchronous Collaboration: A live Zoom session will bring regional colleagues together for a facilitated discussion to share insights, proactively consider opportunities  and challenges, and develop future considerations for long range planning.

Materials and information for this overview are drawn from the Blue Ribbon Commission Graduation Measures Report, the November 2024 Board of Regents Meeting, and the NY Inspires slide deck from that meeting.
